What GST e-invoicing actually changed for logistics billing

E-invoicing is usually described as a reporting requirement. In practice it is a discipline requirement.
Once an IRN is generated, the invoice exists on the IRP and cannot be quietly edited. The habit of raising an invoice and adjusting it later — a common practice where freight was still being confirmed — stops working.
Operationally this means the numbers have to be right before the document is issued, which pushes rate confirmation and weight capture earlier in the cycle. Businesses that made that shift found their receivables ageing improved, because disputes moved from post-invoice to pre-invoice.
